Entry No. 401
Labradorite Specimen
On Reflection, Perception, and Hidden Light
Form — Polished Slab (One-Side Finished)
Classification — Reflective Surface / Natural Edge Specimen
A single labradorite slab, polished on one face to reveal its internal flash while leaving the remaining surfaces raw and unaltered.
Each piece carries a shifting spectrum—visible only at certain angles—making no two entries identical.
The archive does not record these specimens as static objects, but as surfaces that respond to perspective.
✦ WHAT IS INCLUDED
• 1 Labradorite slab (one-side polished)
• Naturally occurring flash (varies in color and intensity)
✦ SPECIMEN SIZING
Each entry is categorized by scale rather than exact measurement:
• Small Specimen — approx. 2–2.5 in
• Standard Specimen — approx. 2.5–3.5 in
• Large Specimen — approx. 3.5–4.5 in
• Expanded Specimen — High Flash Selection — prioritized for surface activity over size
Measurements are approximate.
Variation is expected as each specimen forms naturally.
✦ WHY THIS ENTRY EXISTS
Labradorite is recorded for its relationship to perception—what is visible, what is hidden, and what changes depending on where you stand.
This form preserves both states:
• The polished surface reveals
• The raw edges conceal
Together, they hold the full record.
✦ HOW THIS SPECIMEN IS USED
• Kept as a visual anchor for reflection and focus
• Used in moments requiring perspective shift
• Displayed where light movement can activate its flash
• Carried as a reminder that not everything is immediately visible
✦ SPECIMEN DETAILS
• One-side polished, one-side raw
• Natural variations in size, shape, and flash
• Flash may include blue, gold, green, or multicolor
• Each piece is unique and will differ from photos
• Size varies by selected specimen category
✦ ARCHIVE NOTE
Surfaces that appear inactive often require repositioning.
What is not visible
is not absent—
only unobserved.
✦ ADDITIONAL DETAILS
• Selected and assembled in small batches
• Natural stone — variations are expected
